Kamsie Copyright & DMCA Policy

Draft — effective on launch Last updated: October 15, 2026

Kamsie respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. Most of Kamsie is live and expires within 60 minutes, but copyright law still applies to live performance and transmission — and Keeps can last longer. This policy describes how to report infringement and how we respond, under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and similar laws elsewhere.

1. Reporting infringement

If you believe content on Kamsie infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent:

Designated Copyright Agent [Kamsie Legal Entity Name] [Mailing Address] Email: dmca@kamsie.app [placeholder — confirm mailbox and register the agent with the US Copyright Office before launch]

Your notice must include:

  1. Your name, address, phone number, and email address.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim was infringed.
  3. Identification of the infringing material and enough information for us to locate it — given Kamsie's live nature, include the user's handle, the approximate time (with timezone), and whether the material is a live Drop, a Keep, or a message.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Because Drops expire 60 minutes after they end, we may be unable to review a specific Drop after the fact. Keeps, profiles, handles, and messages persist and can be actioned at any time. Reports about live content are prioritised while the content is live.

2. What we do

On receiving a valid notice, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the identified material where it still exists, notify the user who posted it, and record the strike against their account under our repeat-infringer policy.

3. Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification — for example, because your use is licensed or a fair use — you may send a counter-notice to the agent above including:

  1. Your name, address, phone number, and Kamsie handle.
  2. Identification of the material removed and where it appeared.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the US federal district court for your address (or, if outside the US, for [Nevada]) and accepting service of process from the original complainant.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant and may restore the material 10–14 business days later unless the complainant notifies us they have filed a court action. Ephemeral content that has already expired will not be restored.

4. Repeat infringers

We terminate accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. A user's strikes are recorded, and we also act immediately on egregious or commercial-scale infringement without waiting for repeat offences.

5. Music and media in Drops

Playing recorded music, showing broadcasts, or performing covers in a Drop does not transfer the rights-holder's rights to you. You are responsible for the content of your own Drops. If in doubt, make your minute about where you are and who you're with — that's the point of Kamsie anyway.
